The Galway Chamber Christmas Business Lunch will take place on Friday, 14th December at 12.30pm in Hotel Meyrick, Eyre Square.

The Guest Speaker at this festive event will be Tommie Gorman, Northern Ireland Editor, RTÉ. Mr. Gorman started his career when he was 21 as a reporter with the Western Journal, based in Ballina, Mayo. He joined RTÉ in 1980 and became North-West correspondent, he then moved to Brussels to become Europe Editor in 1989 and took up his current role as Northern Editor for RTÉ in 2001.

Tommie is known for his personal interviews with figures such as Seán Quinn, Gerry Adams and Roy Keane. Some of his most memorable television was Tommie’s 2007 TV documentary ‘Paisley – From Trouble-maker to Peace Maker’ about Ian Paisley and following the World Cup of 2002 Tommie interviewed Roy Keane about the complexities of the Saipan story.

Gorman was given an honorary master’s degree by NUI Galway in October 2009.
